Ceremony at HEGGEMANN AG - Many young people from all over the city have joined the Bürener Bürgerstiftung e. V. again proposed this year to receive the honorary award "Büren‘s Best".

Many young people from the entire urban area became the Bürener Bürgerstiftung e. V. again proposed this year to receive the honorary award "Büren‘s Best". But the requirements for the applicants are impressive - in addition to above-average performance in school, training or work, the young adults have to commit themselves to society in a special way. The special focus of the evaluation is on the volunteer fire service, DLRG, Malteser Hilfsdienst, Technical Relief or the German Red Cross. Attention is also paid to the involvement in political youth organizations, the use in music and sports clubs as well as church youth work. The funds for the prizes come from the Heinrich Steinbrecher Fund, which is run under the foundation's roof.

The host of this year's award ceremony was HEGGEMANN AG. It is extremely rare for outsiders to be given a deeper insight, but the chairman of the board, Robert Heggemann, personally guided the winners through the different areas. The company operates internationally in the automotive and aerospace industries and is known for its advanced lightweight solutions. The visitors were fascinated by the production processes as well as the variety and complexity of the components and, above all, their low weight.

In his words of greeting, Büren‘s mayor Schwuchow thanked the award winners for their outstanding social commitment: "You are something very special that Büren is very proud of and I am pleased that today we dignify the passion with which you commit yourself to others can. Please keep this attitude, because only then can a society exist. "Schwuchow also encouraged the young people to emulate the host Robert Heggemann and the founder of the Heinrich Steinbrecher prizes, who master their social responsibility on a daily basis as a company. "For me, it was an honor to be able to have" Büren's Best "in our company today," Robert Heggemann welcomed the award winners and the guests present. HEGGEMANN AG deliberately has a high apprenticeship quota with almost 10 percent, because dedicated employees are the core of every successful company, Heggemann continues. This year, 19 young people can look forward to receiving the "Bürens Beste" award, presented by the chairman of the Bürgerstiftung, Bärbel Olfermann. It was a wealth of volunteer work that Olfermann was able to report to each of the winners, and how modest and self-evident the young people comment on their own commitment. The highest scores for school performances were achieved by Melina Menne and Clemens Meyer. In the field of volunteering Jan Peeters and also Melina Menne were pleased. In addition to a certificate, six additional cash prizes were awarded between € 100 and € 500. The first prize went to Melina Menne, the second to Jan Peeters and the third prize to Clemens Meyer. Three youngsters were happy about the fourth prize - Sarah Gödde, Janik Stork and André Schulte. Finally, Bärbel Olfermann thanked Büren's economic promoter Jan Hüttner and Michael Kubat. For several years, the business development has been supporting the event and supporting the connection to the companies in Büren. It will be interesting to see which company from Büren will open its doors in 2015 for the best from Büren.
