Excursion of the cooperation "Aviation of the Future" from Braunschweig as guest at HEGGEMANN AG

For the visitors of the event series "Aviation of the Future" the Bürener HEGGEMANN AG opened its doors for the first time and provided insights into the production in the aerospace sector, in particular the development and production of chassis, metallic structures and engine components.

Horst Günther, head of the DGLR (German Aerospace Society) district group Braunschweig, traveled with his cooperation partners and other guests to the excursion to Büren. The cooperation partners of this series of events with specialist lectures and excursions are the DLR (German Aerospace Center), the TU Braunschweig with the NFL (Lower Saxony Research Center for Aviation) and the VDI Braunschweiger Bezirksverein Arbeitskreis Luft- u. Aerospace. In particular, the 17 guests informed themselves about the high level of vertical integration, as well as the expertise in material-specific joining processes (advanced material design) combined with the latest production technologies in the aerospace sector. The company recognized early on that innovative lightweight construction concepts will prevail in all areas of mobility and has been concentrating since the beginning of the 1990s on the development and production of metallic lightweight structures in the aerospace, aerospace and automotive markets.

It was not surprising that the selected title of the event series "Aviation of the Future" also matched the slogan of HEGGEMANN "for the mobility of the future."

Owner Robert Heggemann was able to provide the guests with structural components for weight-reduced passenger seats even before the tour through production. Michael Zimmermann, Manager of the HEGGEMANN Aerospace division, comments on the individuality: "The components can be made according to the customer's requirements for detailed customer drawings. However, HEGGEMANN's own design and production engineering plays a much more demanding role. Here, the products are completely designed, developed and manufactured in-house. On the basis of the high level of competence in this field, HEGGEMANN produces tailor-made lightweight construction solutions for the mobility of the future. "
